Should You Leave Your Home on the Market During the Holidays?

A holiday home sale isn’t ideal for everyone, but there are some unique benefits to selling a home during this time of year. Here are a few.

Three big holidays are coming up in the next three months, so sellers have been asking us if they should leave their home on the market during Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmastime.

First off, it all depends on your situation. If you’re on a deadline and under pressure to get your home sold, you should always leave your home on the market during these times. You might not have as many showings as you would have in the spring or summer, but any showings you do have will be with quality buyers. They wouldn’t be out in the market if they weren’t seriously looking to buy.

Serious buyers are out and about during the holidays.

A lot of people take their homes off the market during the holidays, but that’s to your benefit. With less competition, your home will stand out more to buyers. Although it can be challenging to work around the holidays, especially if you are hosting family, we rarely have someone wanting to see houses or make an offer on Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas.

If you have any questions for me about selling during the holidays or about anything else related to real estate, don’t hesitate to give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
