The spring real estate market is in full swing, so there is no better time to share some tips to help you prepare your home for the market. Today, we share the best ways to declutter your home so that it stands out from the crowd!

  • Clean for a cause: There are many needy people out there who could use some help. When preparing to move, keep Goodwill and Salvation Army in mind as good places to donate your unused items. Knowing you're helping others makes getting rid of things a bit easier.
  • Don't leave room for "maybe": When cleaning out a room, a drawer, or a closet, we suggest creating three distinct piles: trash, donate, and keep. The "keep" pile should be the smallest if you want your life to be clean and simple.
  • Health hazards: Studies show that we spend 90% of our time indoors. The more stuff we have around the house, the more dusty and dirty it will become. Today, homes are built in such a way that doesn't allow for much ventilation, so you need to be vigilant about dusting and cleaning areas of the house that are used less than others.
